Input
Your identification of "First Children" is needed.Submit names of students, years of attendance, locations, schools, and whatever information you can share in the
Comments box. Was the desegregation the result of a law suit?
The “Somebody Had To Do It” project is searching for pictures, of you that is. If you have any pictures related to the school desegregation process, please send an electronic copy to somebody@claflin.edu or mail a copy of the photo to Dr. Millicent E. Brown, Claflin University, 400 Magnolia Street, Orangeburg, SC 29115.
We are especially interested in scenes of children going through the process (school yards, classrooms, bus stops, entrances of schools). These photos will be used to enhance the “Somebody Had To Do It” website and database so that we can give faces to your stories. Please contribute to the “Somebody Had To Do It” picture roundup. We are collecting the voices, and we need the faces of the school desegregation pioneers.
We need your continued support in identifying the “first children”
